Hi all. I thought it about time I showed my head above the parapet on this Forum. Glen has usually been the 'voice' of committee contributions in addition to his role as Fastback Spares Sec. (no more alas! Any volunteers?). I must admit to only this year, having spent time browsing some of the more recent posts on the Forum, and very interesting reading they make. I will be making amends in the future.
At the AGM this year we have formally created a new position of LAO Liaison Coordinator in order to improve communications between the committee (and it's discussions) and the LAOs, in order to create faster feedback (both ways) between the committee and membership. Malcolm Fletcher, SW Area LAO, has agreed to accept this position. This makes it faster (and cheaper) than producing a Short Cuts bulletin. So if any LAOs reading this, would care to contact Malcolm for answers to any problems or ideas you may have he is waiting to hear.
In addition to this Forum, which will be used more extensively for this purpose, we have also formally joined with the Sunbeam Rapier Facebook page which has now become an Official Club Facebook site. The Facebbok page is being administered by David Atherton (Ron's son) who has also now become a LAO for the previously vacant South Area, centred around Hampshire where David lives.
All of this, it is hoped will improve communication overall as there are limitations in what can be announced via a quarterly magazine in C&T. If anyone has any comments, criticisms or ideas to impart please get in touch with me directly (contact details in magazine). I beleive a healthy club is all about unambiguous communications.
