Hi All
At the moment, I seem to be doing around 27 miles per gallon in my Series V..
Is this good, bad or indifferent ??
Obviously, if I can improve this, it might be worth investigating, but if it is normal consumption then I will leave it well alone..

Thanks for the info folks..
Will leave things alone... we don't do enough mileage to take on unnecessary major expenditure at the moment..
No overdrive and it already has the 36/32 Weber carb fitted.(previous owner)... and we are in the middle of redoing the clutch, which started slipping recently..
Can't wait to get back on the road..hopefully 15 June

Hi Stella,
I agree with JPSH120: 27 miles per gallon is what you should expect.
If you are interested in getting more miles to the gallon than there are two possibilities. One is fitting a 3.89:1 differential assuming that you have an overdrive, if not then you allready have a 3.89:1 diff. The other possibility is fitting the new inlet manifold plus Weber 32/36 carburettor which is available through the Sunbeam Alpine Owners Club and is manufactured by Webcon in the UK.
Both options are now about to be fitted on my Rapier Series 4 and I am expecting a lot of it. This are no cheap options and when you are doing not a lot of miles in a year it is not cost worthy, but it certainly changes your Rapier in something special.

Probably not far off what you should expect, Stella.
Assuming that is mixed driving then I would be quite happy with that.
