I would like to know what other members use to replace the cork on the sump flang as the bits you get in the kits are not as good as the originals

The NOS Payen sets should be fine, even though very old. I can't remember which way round it is, but ali & tin sumps use different seals - one cork & one rubber; as far as I know it is important to use the correct one according to which material the sump is made from. Cheers. G.
