Hi,
Just joined up with the forum, hopefully I can pick up plenty of information about the fastback rapiers, as I'm looking to buy one in about 6 months time or so. I'll take out membership with the lub in the new year, doesn't seem much point in doing it right now!
Cheers
Jim

When I posted hefty premium, I ment in the purchase price, not insurance LOL! I never thought about that at all! I wouldn't have thought an H120 would be much different on classic insurance to a standard rapier.

Regards,
Jim Gough

Regarding insurance,I'm not a broker or anything but I can tell you where I got my H120 insured fully comp' (3000 miles a year) for £14.00 a month. I suppose everyone is different and "beauty is in the eye of the beholder etc" but I think the spoiler boot lid improves the car,

Looking for a Mk6 Rapier....

Hi Jim, Welcome to the forum. Should be some Fastback owners here. My Auto's going up for sale next year, but it may be you only want a manual or H120? Look forward to seeing you posting again as you near the time of purchase. Cheers. G.

Thanks for the reply!
I'm after an early manual rapier. I like the H120 except for the boot lid, I feel it spoils the looks of the car, plus theres quite a hefty premium for the h120 nowerdays.

Hello Jehansm, Only a quick reply for now, but great to hear of a Series I in India. Hopefully club can help on some things. I have put responses to your questions below.

Hi,

My name is Jehan, I've recently inherited a Sunbeam Rapier Series 1 from my grandfather, here in India, and my mechanic has a list of parts that I need to purchase for a general, 'keeping it in good running order'.

I'd like to ask advice on
a) How to get membership - possibly through some kind of online payment or bank transfer as I'm here in India, and you're there in London. You can Pay by Pay Pal if you have it, but would still have to send forms by mail. Have a look under membership on the web site.

b) What kind of membership is appropriate for me, as I won't be able to attend rallies etc. All same price of £23 per year, if you don't have car you can have associate membership. Hopefully still good value for help with cheaper parts.

c) If there's an expert there who can communicate directly with my garage and help us source and ship parts. Try contacting Series spares secretary - as per link under Spares on web site.

Any help, would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thank you.

Jehan.
