I would like to locate a chrome horn push ring from the steering wheel assembly. I could also do with a chrome boot handle. Another on my wish list is a complete Rapier engine with ancillaries. one that is usable or at least repairable. I have a lot to do to this car to make it presentable. Last but not least, I'd like to find a rear bumper complete with over riders.

Greetings
The model is a series 4, and totally rotten shell. Reg number is AYB 829B,it's a saloon model, all complete. The main reason for purchase was to get my hands on a genuine engine and ancillaries, besides the other bits I've been searching for. Stripping the engine I discovered that the drain tap on the block was totally blocked, not allowing complete draining of coolant.Coolant in this car was obviously only water! The block has cracked in the normal place for Minx and Rapier, horizontal in line with the drain tap. OK I thought, it can be stitched but on examination of the head it was obvious that some "mechanic" had repaired erosion in the water ways, then skimmed the head to extreme. The tapped holes on the side for the pushrod cover are nearly on the edge of the casting! So apart from getting a gearbox with working overdrive, and other sundry bits, not a great success.

Hi Jim,
Still barn finds around - remarkable isn't it, you'd think they'd have all been uncovered by now!
Have you got the details of them - Reg &/or chassis no's; just to see if known to club or to add to club records if not.
Cheers. Glen.

Just a post script, the parts I was asking for, which nobody seems to have, are no longer required. I've just picked up a pair of "barn find" Series IV Rapiers. Very very rusty, but all the parts I need! One complete, the other without engine and gearbox.
