Sorry to be a pain again, but need your wisdom and guidance please. Two unrelated topics:
1. Does anyone have a spare jack for a 1973 Rapier Fastback or advise me where I can get one? Had a look at the Beaulieu autojumble, but without success.
2. It seems that the Fastback has a fault on the window mechanism. My drivers window has a small gap when wound up. I understand that other Fastbacks have the same issue. My understanding is that it is due to the teeth wearing out on a part within the door window mechanism. I spoke to a guy at Beaulieu, who owns a Fastback, and he said that his car had the same fault and he couldn't find a replacement part. Can anyone help?

In regards to the window mechanism, basically over the years the screw channels loose the grease then the winding cog wears down. You cannot get replacement cogs as far as I know but about a year ago I underwent an experiment to see if I could swap winding cogs from spare front and back window mechanism, it had varied success to be honest it worked on some and not on others but with some trial and error I managed to fix one. You basically need to get your hands on a working mechanism (back ones are usually best as less use) drill the rivets out of the winders do the swap and re-rivet.
