Hi andyb. Just read your want list in more detail. Pity I see you got Workshop Manual - club has a no. at reasonable price, but looks like you're sorted on that. Have s/steel top drivers door trim I think and H120 definitely bootlid. PM if you want more details/cost etc. Cheers. G. |

Sorry, not Rapier related, screens for B2 Audi's should still be available from windscreen replacement firms - wouldn't use Autoglass tho, avoid them if at all possible: loads of problems with them when I had to use them last time and their ads drive me mad . G.
The screens I needed were for the Typ 43 100 and 200 unfortunately.
Ahh, no wonder you had to go for specially made - expensive but at least they could do them |

I would also like to hear opinions on carpets as I have to buy one for my Hunter.
You can't buy molded 2 piece carpets in the UK, but you can get them in Australia.
I've contacted these companies in the UK and Alpine West Midlands also sell them. My only worry is they come in 11 to 15 pieces and look like a right pain to fit correctly. http://www.classic-car-carpets.co.uk/

How about buying some black carpet and making a set? If you have the old ones it would be easy, even without it shouldn't be too difficult.

3rd overdrive is very handy around town - you can flick in and out without using the clutch. Handy for overtaking too
4th overdrive is like 5th in a modern car - it reduces noise and saves on petrol.
Obviously if you are planning on launching at 6000 rpm on a regular basis - it's probably best not to!
Apologies for the stupid question but...
What else besides the gearbox do I need to convert the car to overdrive? |

You'll need the electrics - a bit of wiring loom, a relay (attaches to front inner wing) and the steering column switch (looks like an indicator stalk).
Oh - and the steering column cowl will need an extra hole.
