Hello
Can someone explain what that means on my MOT-Document:
«001 prop-shaft universal joint worn«.
The mechanic, however, said there is nothing to do. I am a bit insecure now.

Best greetings from the Isle of Arran in Scotland.

Hi Bruno,

These are the joints in the prop-shaft. He's making you aware that there is some play in the joint but it's nothing to worry about, otherwise it would be a fail!

They are easy enough to change and I'm assuming parts would be available.

OK, Thanks. Is the result perhaps some whining and since a couple of weeks a little click when I switch the overdrive off when the car is under load (uphill)?

Best greetings from the Isle of Arran in Scotland.

The click you hear is just the solenoid that switches the overdrive on or off, not sure about the whining.

I guess if you were going to hear anything related to the prop it would clunk as the slack gets taken up, but, assuming it's not that bad if only marked as an advisory on the MOT.
