A couple more FB on eBay - a gold one - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1970-SUNBEAM-RAPIER-FASTBACK-GOLD-TAX-EXEMPT-/120573863918?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item1c12c327ee

and a purpley kinda colour (!) - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SUNBEAM-RAPIER-FASTBACK-/160438211190?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item255adcd276

Get past the colour and it looks like quite a solid car.

Still can't get past the colour! ....and maroon interior! The boot lid would definitely need some serious attention too. It looks awful. I know it's tow bar fitted but surely there has to be a better way.

Building the '2nd series' fastback Rapier ('Arrocuda').

Both seem to do the rounds on e-Bay quite regularly - esp the blue one. I saw it for sale in 2005 & it is more blue than purple, not sure hat the original colour was. Beige one looks quite good on those period wheels. Hope they find enthusiastic owners. Thanks for alerting us to them. G

If the interior in the bluey purple one is the original then the paint was probably 163 Violet - which is a dark maroon/purple colour.

That sounds a whole lot nicer than what it is now...
