I wonder if anyone shares the same dream as me. One day in Durban , long..long..ago I was present as a youngster when 3 cars lined up for a dice. One was a hot Volvo 122S, one was a cool Cortina 1600 GT and the other was a seriously lumpy sounding Ser 3 Rapier. All three vehicles were battling to idle because of the cams and webers and stuff under the bonnets... They flew away and the Volvo was in front, Cortina close second and the Rapier was still battling to get grip in 3rd place, but it was not long and the Rapier made them eat dust, Volvo 2nd and then the Cortina . Wish I had made a video, but we only had those cameras around with the cloth over and the cordite flash.. So my dream is to have a Series Rapier body with all the hottest Rootes goodies in, from bumper to bumper.. Wonder why they wasted all the H120 goodies in the fastback body ? |

Not really the same but similar... Me and my dad are always joking around with the idea of putting a V8 in a fastback... Something like 289 from a tiger MK2, still rootes-ish... There's just so much room in the engine bay of a fastback... Wonder why it was never done? It would have been a pleasure to drive i guess?
one thing, I wouldn't make it look like a hotrod... I'd be a clean, nice looking car, but like my "signature" says: I'd would look relatively standard, but the minute you'd start the engine, you'd know there's something wrong... It would leave modern cars in its shadow a traffic lights... ;)
That's what I'd like the most... Showing those guys with their big mouth that you don't need a good expensive car to have something great!!!!
