Hi guys, need some help!
I've had to remove the nsf strut as it was not functioning correctly. My plan was to replace the innards with those from the old strut (I replaced it during my resto) but they are different.
The newer one has a Monroe insert which appears to be a sealed unit and I'm assuming has run dry of oil. The older one has a different type of insert which I'm assuming is original which I could re-use. It has oil in it but the insert comes apart and I'm not sure what oil levels should be etc.
So, need to find a replacement Monroe strut or get some advice on how the older insert works if anyone knows. I'll post up pictures if necessary.

Hi, I have a pair of original inserts sitting in the workshop after changing them for spax units.
Doesn't look much wrong with them and only changed them as I was doing the top bearings and thought I may as well dave coming back to them later, you can have them for the postage if they're any use to you?

I've bought a pair of replacement inserts from speedy spares, thought I might as well put new ones in.

I fitted Spax shocks to mine, they are adjustable and a swine to fit, but at least you can still buy a complete set of fronts and rears and simply "bolt them in"
in their soggyest position they feel like the originals and not too sporty, beyond setting number 1 they get a bit bone shattering!
