She 's finally on the road for the last 2 weeks.. After repairing the front chassis outrigger, she had only 2 faults on her MOT... not too bad for a car that's not had an MOT for a long time!! Had to replace the exhaust and change the carbs to get the emissions within the required range... I will be reconditioning the carbs that were on it... the needles on these had so much wear on it it was running way to rich on idle...
Recent addition have been, finally wiring in the rear heated window and a brand new Dixie air horn!
Pictures to follow...

It really was a nightmare!
No, this is my second fastback, just having a small clean up before going back on the road.. this used to be my late granddads car..

That looked like a total nightmare job. Well done for sticking with it.
Wasn't the car green - or was that just the exterior panels? |

Sorry for this I had to do it quick that day so will take my time to upload a couple as soon as possible..
As you all know both sides were really bad.. So I cut out everything rotten, repaired the reinforcement piece and welded everything back in places, making sure the position of the shock wasn't altered too much..

Left hand side first

Right hand side was as bad..

Repairing

Priming

Finished... now cleaning and protecting

Since there's probably not going to be an easy solution soon, I've started fabricating my own repair panel..
Here's what was left...
RH-side

LH-side (all ready cut out)

Here 's what I've got so far...

thanks,
Good thinking, maybe there is still something usable there... anyway, if I can't find anything, I will surely try to make repair panels from almost nothing. As you might expect, my skills making repair panels have grown making repair panels for my fastback restoration, because there weren't many useable repair panels for what I'm having to repair.. I'm kind of excited, looking at the challenge of making them...
