£14 for a set of s/hand leads  That's a joke! I recognise the blue tarp: I think this is the person who broke a Series IV down to its last component and is selling all for silly prices. I would not buy from them on principle even if they we a fiver. 
Saw other responses and agree with what's been said. You should be able to buy a length of lead for a few pounds and make up your own.

I studied the picture of the ignition cables on offer on Ebay. They were removed from a Rapier V and more than likely worked very well but do appear to be non original. I do not recognise the rubber fittings at the ends and from what I can see, the terminals are not copper.
The part numbers for the srs V and the Fastback can be the same for the distributor to sparking plugs but the coil to distributor cable is one of two lengths for the V. The shortest being 12" long. The one I have measures 9.5".

I still have the set that were installed on my Rapier, Chassis L3. The manufacturers name imprinted on the cables is Ripaults. I understand a good British company from the period. I'm in East Sussex. Please contact me if interested on james@jamesbull.orangehome.co.uk

Thanks for your response.
However, I am hoping for a real source for such a set to buy. Via Internet is absolutely OK; my ressources on the island are somewhat reduced. The engineer has come twice to mend it, so I could start the car again, but that is not a real solution. At the moment he has just no time to look after my problem(s), he works already over 12 hours a Day and searches desperatly people.

| A simple way to check HT leads is to start the car in a dark place and look and at all the HT leads, there is often spark flying around and you can hear the ticks too where the short circuits are. Sometimes it is just bad connections making spark jump. Carbon leads normally break down over time, HT leads are tougher and last longer because the core is copper wire and not carbon. |

Hello
We had here a few terrible storms with a lot of water from above, the sides and everywhere. I had more than once the problem to start the engine and needed the AA to send me the engineer. He now recommends to replace the existing cables in the distributor by a HT cable set for Ignition system.
I have now looked searched the Internet, found a couple of potential supplier and am totally at loss, what exactly I should order. For me and my 1968 Fastback would probably a definitive Link to a company and the correct product be the best help. Technically, I understand nothing, despite I know what a distributor does.
